Mayer, CPA Managing Partner John is a 1974 graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an Accounting Major. He worked seven years for the premier national accounting firm of Price Waterhouse where as a manager, he served a prominent pharmaceutical manufacturer, a national restaurant chain, an SEC registered insurance group, a renowned law firm, a real estate developer, a credit union, and numerous large and small manufacturers, not-for-profit organizations, and trusts. John gained valuable experience in the banking industry in 1981 through 1984, serving as the Chief Financial Officer for The First National Bank of Columbus. Afterwards, John accepted a position on the financial staff of Allison Gas Turbine, a billion dollar division of General Motors. In 1989, John formed Mayer and Company, which has grown to become one of the most trusted and respected CPA firms in Columbus, IN. In his 35+ years of successful public accounting and financial management, John has gained the knowledge and expertise only found in one who has worked so closely with all levels of people and management, from small business owners to executives of Fortune 500 Corporations. John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. He is a graduate of LeadershipBartholomewCounty, a member of the Jaycees, and enjoys hiking, racquetball, sailing, and cycling. Matthew L. Jenkins, CPA Senior Financial Consultant Matt graduated from IndianaUniversity in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the IU School of Business. He was recruited by Mayer and Company that year and now provides a full range of services to individuals, estates, and a variety of local businesses. Matt's consistently superior service and rapport with clients have made him an indispensable part of our team and an integral asset to his client base. He currently represents many of our firm's largest clients, who have come to rely on his knowledge, thoroughness, and cost effective analysis. Matt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. For relaxation Matt enjoys boating, exploring the outdoors, and traveling around the country.  Rebecca L. Pearson, CPA Financial Consultant Becky is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Her previous experience includes professional positions with nationally recognized companies including the international accounting firm of Haskins and Sells, where she became a Supervisor in the Indianapolis office.  At Detroit Diesel Allison, a Division of General Motors, she rose to the position of Manager of General Accounting where she supervised a staff of 25 and was responsible for the Financial Statements for the Division.  Becky lives in Indianapolis and has three children.  She enjoys sewing, cross-stitch, reading, and movies. Jo Linda Meier, CPA Financial Consultant Jo Linda earned her BA in Accounting from Ball State University.  She has been a Licensed CPA in the state of Indiana for over 20 years.  Jo came to Mayer and Company with the well rounded background of accounting experience we look for to best serve our clients.  Her skills have grown through the years, having acquired valuable training at such well know firms as H. Schwartz & Company, Barnes & Thornburg, and Irwin Financial. Jo has been an active member of many national accounting institutes and has served locally as a Board Member for Dancer's Studio.  She is a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.  Jo Linda and her daughter, who is an accomplished figure skater, spend much of their free time at the ice rink. Rayetta R. Mize Office Manager Rayetta attended IUPUC, majoring in Business Administration and also received certification from the Institute of Financial Education.  She spent many years with Home Federal Bank, rising from Teller Supervisor to Marketing and Project Coordinator.  Later experience included a long stint with ABC Cutting Contractors, where she played a crucial role in their growth and profitability as Administrative Manager.  Rayetta has been active in many community service projects, working with United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, March of Dimes, and the American Cancer Society.  She is also an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church.  Emily J. Hodge Financial Consultant Emily recently joined our staff after obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting & Financial Services from Indiana State University.  While attending ISU, she completed accounting internships with Unison Engine Components, an aviation division of GE, and Mauriello Accounting, Inc.  Emily attends Westside Community Church and enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outside and watching TV.
